Hornbostel joins ApexV2R for their American debut at the 2022 WRL series finale. Nicholas led the team in qualifying, but unfortunately an early incident in Race 1 forced the team to go to a back-up car for Sunday’s race. Nicholas drove up to P2 early in the race, but ultimately the team ended with a strong P5 finish.
After a solid P4 finish in race 1, coming through the field from P10, the team took a gamble in race 2 with tricky weather conditions and pitted for slicks on lap 3. Nicholas was able to unlap himself and regain his position, repeatedly setting fastest lap. Unfortunately, a red flag ended the race early.
Back in a GT86 with ApexV2R, Hornbostel double stinted in race 1 setting the teams fastest laps and helping bring the car home to a very strong P2 finish. The team fought hard again in race 2, managing to secure their second podium of the weekend.
Heading to a new circuit for the first time, Nicholas continued to improve throughout the weekend finishing in 8th in race 1 before a failed transmission in race 2 and being unable to start the 3rd race of the weekend.
Nicholas Hornbostel makes his debut in the Nissan 370z. After a crash in practice due to an ABS failure, Nicholas qualified P2 with limited track time. Rain made for a difficult race for Hornbostel on worn tires, but still managed a P6 finish in the 40+ car field!
Nicholas Hornbostel joins ApexV2R in a Scion FR-S for the first Canadian race on the 2021 ChampCar schedule. Nicholas drove nearly 3 hours of the 7-hour race while he set the team's fastest laps, helping bring the car to a podium, finishing 3rd in class.
Hornbostel continues to dominate as he adds another 2 wins to his name. With 4 wins in a row to close out the championship, Nicholas finishes 2nd overall - just 10 points short of being crowned the 2021 champion.

An engine failure and mixed weather conditions make it a tricky weekend for NHR.
After missing Friday practice and having a strong charge up to 2nd place on the podium for Saturday, a last-minute call for rain tires prior to the start of Sunday's race forced Hornbostel to settle for an unforgiving 6th place finish.
Nicholas battles hard with Trois-Rivières veterans. With limited track time compared to the rest of the front runners, Hornbostel gains experience as he brings home a solid 6th and 5th place finish following his first visit to the streets of Trois-Rivières.
An up and down weekend as Nicholas secures pole position but is hindered by mechanical failures.
Eager to race, he was left behind as not one, but two transmissions failed over the course of the weekend. Nicholas drove from the back of the field to 4th on Saturday and settled for 10th on Sunday.
A breakout debut weekend for Nicholas Hornbostel! He secured pole position for both races and drove away to a 30+ second victory in race 1 and battled hard for the win in race 2 until a red flag ended the race!
